As the kharif sowing season approaches, over 11 crore farmers across India are eagerly waiting for the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. The upcoming Rs 2,000 payout, expected in June 2025, is a crucial source of financial support for small and marginal farmers preparing for cultivation.

What is PM-KISAN?

Launched in 2019, PM-KISAN is a Central Sector Scheme that offers Rs 6,000 annually to eligible farmer families, disbursed in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

The primary aim is to ease the financial burden of agricultural households by providing timely support for expenses related to seeds, fertilizers, and labor.

When Will the 20th Installment Be Released?

The 19th installment was disbursed on February 24, 2025, in line with the regular PM-KISAN cycle:

  • April–July
  • August–November
  • December–March

Therefore, the 20th installment is expected between June 1 and June 30, 2025. While the Ministry of Agriculture will announce the exact date soon, farmers should act now to ensure timely receipt.

How to Ensure You Receive the Rs 2,000 Payment

  1. Complete e-KYC:
    Mandatory for all beneficiaries. Available online at pmkisan.gov.in or at your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC).
  2. Update Aadhaar and Bank Details:
    Ensure your Aadhaar is linked to your bank account. Any mismatch may delay your payment.
  3. Verify Land Records:
    Your name should match exactly across Aadhaar and land ownership documents.
  4. Check Beneficiary Status:
    Use the “Know Your Status” feature on the PM-KISAN portal.
  5. Stay Updated:
    Regularly follow updates from official sources.
